How I Updated My Kids' Bathroom For Less Than $200

I've done it again, y'all! I redecorated yet another room in my house. This go round, it was my kids' bathroom. Have I mentioned how much I loathe builder-grade decor? Blahhhh!!!

This bathroom is tiny. In fact, all of our bathrooms are on the smaller side. It was the sacrifice for having so much living space in our house. This is also the bathroom our company uses when they spend the night so I wanted it to feel a bit more cozy and designed than overlooked and drab.

Let me show ya what I was workin' with...

Ugh, it was so...plain. The peachy-beige walls, $10 vanity light, and clip on mirror just had tah go!

I started by giving it a few fresh coats of paint and taking down the tacky mirror and fixtures. That alone made it feel like a brand new room! But I must say, there's something super weird about being in a bathroom with a mirror. Cue the scary movie music!

I used Sherwin Williams "Grayish". It's a really beautiful gray that's not too white and not too blue. A perfectly trendy yet classic neutral. I was lucky and had just enough left over from painting my daughter's bedroom that I didn't need to buy a new gallon. Saved me $50!

After a second coat of paint, I added a new towel hook, mirror, and vanity! I found the mirror at Hobby Lobby (50% off obviously). The vanity came from Lowe's and the towel hook was a Home Goods find! Don't you just LOVE Home Goods? It really is a happy place! :)

Now, let me tell y'all about these shelves. I felt like Goldilocks trying to find something to put above the potty to store toothbrushes and such. The first one was too wide, the second too tall, and the third too small. But I found some inspiration on Pinterest (of course!) and let me tell you, I am beyond happy at how they turned out! In fact, I'm going to write an entire separate post about how I made them!

So, to break it all down for you:

-Paint leftover from previous bedroom, $0

-Mirror from Hobby Lobby, $45

-Vanity Light from Lowes, $65

-Wall Decor, Hobby Lobby and Home Goods, $25

-Shelves, DIY, $15

-Shower Curtain, Target, $30 (this was a splurge)

Grand Total: about $180

So, for less than $200 I gave our kids'/guest bathroom a completely new look! You don't have to spend a fortune to achieve a fresh, up to date look in your home!

Happy Spring!

Anna
